Preliminary scientific programme

Useful information

Ulan-Ude has rather convenient railway and air connections with other big Russian cities. The international airport Baikal is located in 15 km from Ulan-Ude downtown. There are direct flights from Moscow airports to Ulan-Ude:
From Sheremet’evo - Aeroflot SU4648
From Vnukovo – Yakutiya Yak713
From Domodedovo – S7 115
It is also possible to reach Ulan-Ude via Irkutsk. There are many flights to Irkustk from Moscow, Sankt-Petesburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and other Russian cities. To reach Ulan-Ude from Irkutsk one can take trains (800-1400 rubles) or microbuses (600 rubles) which start at the Irkutsk railway station. Railway and highway to Ulan-Ude are set along the southern shore of Lake Baikal. The trip takes 7-8 hours.

Average day temperature in the last decade of July at Lake Baikal shore is ~+19°C, night temperature goes down to +3+5°C.

1. One can reach the “Baikal-Plaza” hotel by the following ways:
a) from airport by shuttles#55 till the “Ploshad’ Sovetov” bus stop.
b) If you come from Irkutsk by a shuttle, you should ask the shuttle driver to stop at “Ploshad’ Sovetov” bus stop.
c) from railway station – by shuttles #23 and 36.
Take shuttles #29, 30 or to reach Buryat Scientific Center (IPMS SB RAS) from the hotel.

2. How to reach the “Siberia” hotel:
a) from airport by shuttle #55 (stop “PLoshad’ Sovetov”), further by foot;
b) if you come from Irkutsk, ask the shuttle driver to stop at “Ploshad’ Sovetov”, further by foot;
c) from railway station – by shuttle #63 till “Ploshad’ Sovetov”, further by foot;
Take shuttles #54 and 59 to reach Buryat Scientific Center (IPMS SB RAS) from the hotel.

3. How to reach the “Buryatia” hotel:
a) from airport by the shuttle #55 the “Ploshad’ Sovetov” bus stop. Further by foot.
b) if you come from Irkutsk by shuttle, ask shuttle’s driver to stop at the “Ploshad’ Sovetov” bus station, proceed further by foot;
c) from railway station – by shuttle #63 till “Ploshad’ Sovetov”, proceed further by foot;
Take shuttles #29, 30, 36, 54 and 59 to reach Buryat Scientific Center (IPMS SB RAS) from the hotel.

4. How to reach the “Sagan-Morin” hotel.
a) from airport you should take the shuttle #55 till “Elevator” stop.
b) if you come from Irkutsk by shuttle, you should proceed till the final stop (Railway Station), from there you can walk or take a taxi.
Take shuttles #29, 30 or 59 to reach Buryat Scientific Center (IPMS SB RAS) from the hotel.

5. How to reach the “Barguzin” hotel:
a) from airport by the shuttle #55 till the “Ploshad’ Sovetov” bus stop, cross the street and take shuttles #29 or 37 and go till the “Gostinitsa Barguzin” bus stop.
b) if you come from Irkutsk by a shuttle, ask the shuttle’s driver to stop at the “Ploshad’ Sovetov” bus stop, cross the street and take shuttles #29 or 37 and go till the “Gostinitsa Barguzin” bus stop.
c) from the railway station take shuttle #36.
Take shuttles #28 or 30 to reach Buryat Scientific Center (IPMS SB RAS) from the hotel.

6. How to reach the “Geser” hotel:
a) from airport by the shuttle #55 till the “Ploshad’ Sovetov” bus stop. Proceed further by foot;
b) if you come from Irkutsk by a shuttle ask the shuttle’s driver to stop at the “Ploshad’ Sovetov” bus stop;
c) from the railway station take shuttle #36 till the “Ploshad’ Sovetov” bus stop.
Take shuttles #29 or 30 to reach Buryat Scientific Center (IPMS SB RAS) from the hotel.
